Principles

Music is important but acceptance, respect, socialization, self-esteem, and building confidence are more important.

Our programs are focused on music education and enjoyment. DMF is not a music conservatory.

We provide group classes that emphasize re-creation and re-interpretation of existing music, improvisation, self-expression, and original song composition.

We celebrate diversity and accept members with different types of disabilities.

There is no fee to become a member of DMF and all of our On-Site classes are free. Those that can afford to contribute are encouraged to do so.

The directors and director/officers are commited to DMF and have agreed to receive no compensation for their services.
